Welcome
I’m Aaron. I work as a data scientist at BP, mostly on time series problems - figuring out when equipment is about to fail before it actually does. I’ve been doing this long enough to have a patent-pending methodology for it, which still feels a bit surreal.
Outside of work, I run a homelab that’s grown into something unreasonably large. Three Proxmox nodes, 250TB of storage, and more containers than I can count. It started as a way to learn infrastructure and turned into an ongoing project that I keep finding excuses to expand.
This blog is where I’ll write about both worlds. Practical data science stuff - what actually works in production versus what looks good in a notebook. Homelab projects - the automation pipelines, the hardware choices, the things that broke and how I fixed them.
I’m not trying to write comprehensive guides or tutorials. Mostly just documenting what I’m working on and what I’ve learned along the way. If any of it is useful to someone else, even better.
